It is my belief that this is one reason why they remain quiet to this day. There is only speculation and oral tradition a tradition that is still practiced today a tradition that begins with Abram. It is my understanding that not only would they be in danger of death or imprisonment from the Church but also the Jews. Mary the mother of Jesus was murdered by a spear that was hurled at her. She didn't disappear in a rapture. Jesus had half brothers and sisters. One of his sisters was named Miriam from whom one branch of his family originated. Jesus never claimed to be the biological son of G_d. He prayed to G_d his father as we do to this day. One of the stories passed in oral tradition from Grandmother to the first born granddaughter is that Mary was raped by a Roman soldier. It was revealed to Joseph in a dream that Mary had done no wrong and Joseph then brought her into his home.
